Film Review: Looking For Eric

Looking For Eric did for Ken Roach's film career like what Happy Go Lucky did for Mike Leigh. Both directors made a movie with a touching light hearted tone with a negative situations going on with some comedy thrown in. Like both films, they contain an award worthy performance from the lead performer.
Looking For Eric is about a man Eric who lives a pretty shit life, he has been through multiple divorces, and the kids he lives with don't treat him like a dad. Eric idolizes Eric Cantona, a famous soccer player who plays for the Manchester United. Suddenly, he starts talking to the actual Eric Cantona philisophically and Cantona gives him advice throughout the movie. With this advice, Eric's life starts going in the right direction, but there are some stalls due to his son's connection with a local ganster. Eric decides to do something about it.
Looking for Eric one of Ken Roach's most light-hearted film, and also one of his better one's. I suggest you going to see once once the film is released in theaters in America. All I can say is that there are no flaws and the story, direction, and acting is fantastic. Go see it.
